Orrefors

Orrefors mainly produces pine wood products with the focus on Great Britain, Sweden, Middle East and North Africa. A large part of the deliveries are futher processed by planing, partly in their own planing mill, partly by subcontracted planning mills.

The saw line was built in 1996 and has been thoroughly modernised during 2006-2008. In the summer of 2006 the rough sorting and trimming plant was rebuilt. This means that the production is sorted for length directly after pre-sawing. Thereafter, the timber package is dried and the package is taken directly to the planing mill without having to go by the trimming plant. In the summer of 2007, the timber intake was rebuilt and a new debarking machine was taken into operation.

In the summer of 2008, the last step was carried out, when the saw line itself was supplemented and rebuilt into a straight saw line. This means that the capacity will increase from 150,000 m³ per year with three shifts, to 180,000 m³ per year with two shifts.

In order to meet the increased capacity in the saw line a new double channel drier was taken into operation in February 2009.
At the plant, there is also an effective and rational planing mill with cleaving line and briquette manufacturing, which was brought into operation in 2002. The cleaving line was futher rebuilt 2012. In January 2013 a Dynagrade was taken into operation, this will make it possible to in line get the planed wood products graded by strength.
