Interim Report 1 September 2009 – 28 February 2010

Summary

Period covered by the report (1 September – 28 February)
- Net sales totalled SEK 380.2 (343.4) m. The Company’s operating profit was SEK 10.5 (-51.7) m.,
resulting in a profit of SEK 6.0 (-60.2) m. after net financial items.

- The company’s profit after tax was SEK 4.9 (-42.6) m., resulting in earnings per share, after tax,
totalling SEK 0.70 (-6.18).

- The improved profits compared to the same period last year were attributable mainly to higher selling prices for sawn timber products, but recognised exchange rate differences also had a favourable impact on profits. On the other hand, profits were adversely affected by higher raw material costs and a lower level of production and shipments.

- Profits included recognised exchange rate differences of SEK 4.5 (-11.5) m.

- The cash flow from ordinary operations totalled SEK -2.6 (3.0) m.

- Production of sawn timber declined by 13 percent during the period covered by the report, compared to the same period last year. Limiting factors were a scarcity of raw materials and a more severe winter than normal.

- The timber market in the period ahead will be critically affected by the way in which exchange rates fluctuate and whether the growth in consumption of timber products will match the increase in production.

Second quarter (1 December 2009 – 28 February 2010)

- Net sales totalled SEK 164.7 (151.8) m. in the second quarter. The Company’s profit after net financial items
was SEK -3.0 (-38.3) m., resulting in earnings per share, after tax, totalling SEK -0.32 (-4.13).

- The improved profits in the second quarter compared to the same period in the preceding year were mainly attributable to higher selling prices for sawn timber products, but recognised exchange rate differences also had a favourable impact on profits. On the other hand, profits were adversely affected by higher raw material costs and a lower level of production and shipments.

- The profits for the second quarter included recognised exchange rate differences of SEK 6.4 (-5.1) m.

- Production of sawn timber declined by 18 percent during the second quarter compared to the same period last year. Limiting factors were a scarcity of raw materials during the beginning of the quarter and a more severe winter than normal.

- The second quarter is a seasonally weak quarter with a lower volume of shipments of sawn timber products, linked to reduced construction activity during the winter period and a lower level of production as a result of the Christmas and New Year holiday periods.
